ailurop...
oh. i liked today's Word of the Day:

ailurophile

I had never heard. It means "cat lover."

Sorry - that's all. Hehe. I was out in the world. It was good. I had ...
Oh. I was out in the world. It was good. I had an hour commute to the Auction House. Music - my sun roof open (even though it was like 35 or something - the sun was out and there is heat in the car). I love to cruise there is no doubt. it is like an unwiding for me.

Ribbons of roads ... no matter how ancient I become. It is an activity of joy for me. I will definitely be upset when they have to take away my license.

And being around art all day and talking with people about art & oddities all day - it's just my jam. It was a ridiculously long day and at times I was managing both the one of the online bidding platforms and doing phone bidding. Fun though. Ed is still selling shit I sold him 5 years ago. He looks at me when an item sells for less than I sold it to him for and goes "Well. The only one who made money on that was Lisa s long time ago." The stories between us.

I met some new people today too, also, which was invigorating.

There were a bunch of us needed on phone bids for several items - delighted to report the prices on Gustav Stickley furniture - the real, old stuff - has rebounded. We sold a desk for over $9K today. A meer two years ago - you couldn't give the stuff away.

That's always been part of the fun of that business -- seeing the trends pendulum. We sold some spectacular Oriental rugs as well. A few palace size yummies. Some scatters.

Your work had a good day. But really needs to be moved from the unlisted box lot portion of the auction to the main stage. Next time. I hope.

I swung into see the G.B. on my way home. We were listening to his TV music. Flipping through I came across a song, I would never put it here, it would upset the sensibilities of the Owner. It is a rap song by two young men of color. They say the word "nigger" a lot but the opening line is:

"I got your bitch in a headlocc"

It's not an old song. It's quite new I think. I mean I'm not offended but would not the Awake people be so?

I can't keep up on that shit. Dr. Seuss now? Stop publishing the 6 books - there are prolly hundreds more. I never heard of those books anyway.

The rap song made me dance a little and then I said goodbye and drove home to write my friends, drink some wine and prepare mentally for the return of the Real Work Week.

Yes. I hope you took their names and shot them a copy. Where is that?

One of my favorite parables is "You reap what you sow."

Yours (title) is interesting and certainly all yours.

bonne nuit x

Lisa Nickersonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02748824411772434531noreply@blogger.com
