Listless
I will have to make lists each day to make certain things--some, at least--get done. The amount of chores to do has piled up exponentially, and I want to forget them. I think the forgetting is a willful act. But they will not be forgotten in the night when they wake me in the lonesome darkness.
And it is not simply the practical things I am thinking of, but the creative ones, too. Did I forget that I was beginning a new project? I haven't taken one step forward in over a month. It is difficult, and I have been bereft of energy. I don't know if the source is physical or emotional, but I suspect the latter. I've not been able to take care of myself in essential ways for awhile. This weekend, for instance, I barely left he house. I made frozen pizza on Friday, a can of Hormel chili on Saturday, and a take out chicken from a Greek restaurant on Sunday. All washed down, of course, with the things I've sworn to cut back on if not give up.
So I will make a list each day. And if I'm clever, I'll illustrate it. No. . . just getting through the simple list in a day will be enough.
I realize now. . . I've been listless.
Easy Tiger.
I must confess, though, that the Hormel was really good.

ReplyDeleteOh my --- seems you might have a new project right in front of you. She's pretty evocative under the magic of your camera lens.
Love the pictures of the little girl...very nice! And Hormel does make a decent can of chili! :)
ReplyDeleteL, I wish I had a young girl to photograph as she went through life and grew as Slava Pirsky does, but alas, this is someone else's girl from another town far away. Seems like parents would be clamoring to give me their daughters for art. . . but it doesn't work out that way :(
ReplyDeleteR, Ibid. But yes, the Hormel's seems perfect out of the can. Screw Whole Foods :)
