For some reason I cannot figure out, I am unable to reply to comments made on this site. I've tried and tried and have even gone into the settings to try to figure it out. So. . . don't get mad at me or think I am ignoring you. I've been trying very hard.
Last Saturday in July, the really good summer month. Here in the sunny south where it makes no sense at all, school starts in the middle of August. August should be for relaxing on the Cape, whatever cape that is. I would.
Here is a picture of my camera strap. Much skill is involved in getting such a shot. You don't often see it. But that is what makes me so damn special.
ReplyDeleteReally. It's quite fucking wonderful. Dreamland. Kennedy-esque but so much more too - Rothko had a place in Provincetown, Charles Hawthorne way before him - Hans Hoffman - Weldon Kees - Hopper - Mary Oliver - So many, A lot of it is the light - for the painters. And for the rest - it's the Community. Well that's the Lower Cape - a lot of it by me is Family. People have been coming here forever. There grandparents had houses - etc. That's the idyllic side - we have our problems with opioids and poverty. But yeah - right now it's a perfect cone of freshly made peach ice cream at Four Seas Ice-cream - after a dinner of garden zucchini - the start of the tomatoes - local corn - a fire in the fire pit or chimnea - stars and the smell of the sea. I dig it.
Had a fire in the chimnea - a couple of tequlias (ok i just made one more) with freshly squeezed lime and tons of ice - listened to the likes of this:
