I got my "new" camera today, a used Canon 5D Mark IV. I was on a walk when FedEx brought it. I had signed up for notifications thinking they would give me some idea of what time the package would be arriving.  I was on my walk when my phone dinged. They messaged me, alright. They told me that they had tried to deliver the package.  WTF good is that notification? I wanted to know when it was coming. I finished up my walk and got my keys and i.d. and jumped into the car. I had no real hope, but I also had little else to do but go looking for the FedEx truck.

I found it within minutes.

I was excited, of course, to open the package.

It turned out to be a piece of shit beater. The screen was scratched, the metal worn on every corner. This is not what B&H said they were selling me.  Piss shit fuck. But I wanted to shoot with it. I threw in a battery and a card.

Jesus. It has been a while since I've shot with one. It is a dream and makes dream images. I have a month to decide whether to keep it or send it back. So I went online to see about finding another used one.  None. Anywhere. Hard to come by, I guess.

So I shot with it some more. Maybe I'll send it back and just get a new one. Maybe. I don't know.

I don't know.

  1. What’s it say on the other side of the signs? Asking for a friend that goes by the name of Woody.

    1. I never went to the other side. I'm not even sure there was one.
